Cuisinart CSB-76BC SmartStick 200-Watt Immersion Hand Blender Reviews

This is the one to beat5
I have to admit that I bought this immersion blender specifically for soups. However, I quickly found that there is far more to this useful kitchen gadget than just soup blending. It comes with several suggestions in the instruction manual, but I only used those for ideas. I’ve used several different brands and models of immersion blender, and none of them have performed as this one has.

The motor is powerful yet makes very little noise. there is no electronic smell emitted from the motor at high speed as you sometimes get with some models. Clean-up is a breeze as it breaks down very easily. The cord is long enough to be useful, but not too long so as to become a danger int he kitchen. Split pea soup, lobster bisque, wild mushroom soup… all perfect in consistency and texture.

Now that pool season is here, I tried some frozen drinks and smoothies and the like. I’m impressed with that too. Sometimes a blender leaves you with left-overs. This one is great for a personal libation. Five stars all the way, I can’t fault this one on anything, and the price is phenomenal!

Awesome Immersion Hand Blender5
I purchased this Cuisinart immersion hand blender after my Braun gave up the ghost after 25 years. This hand blender works better than my old Braun, which I thought was great. I mainly use it to blend breakfast smoothies, little water, little 1% milk, frozen fruit and protein whey. There are no little chunks left in my drink any more. My smoothies are now very smooth. This hand blender has great power and very easy to clean.

Great stick blender for a great price5
I have owned this product for about 20 months. I use it mostly for making smoothie drinks. It has a powerful enough motor to finely puree frozen berries and banana chunks in liquid (such as water or milk). I did not expect this stick blender to be able to chop up “regular” sized ice cubes, and have not attempted to do this. I have a big heavy-duty blender for blending up chunks of ice.

Cons–but minor ones that don’t really detract from my overall satisfaction of this product:
- The 2-cup plastic measuring container that comes with this stick blender is not really up to the task of serving as the blending container. It isn’t big enough for my needs and the sides of this plastic container would get very scratched up. Instead, I use a tall, wide-mouth glass jar for making my smoothie drinks.

- Like some other reviewers here, I would like at least one lower speed setting for blending foods that are not frozen, such as soups (the Kitchen-Aid product has this feature, but costs more). However, the lack of more than one speed setting probably makes the Cuisinart a more affordable product.
