Philips SHE9800 In-Ear Headphones with Advanced Acoustics Reviews
Headphone review![]()
Growing up playing music, I tried the much more expensive headphones first. These headphones outperform both Bose and Shure without a doubt.
Amazing Sound ![]()
I first bought the shure earbuds and was not impressed by the sound at all. They sounded like any decent pair. My home headphones are Grado and sound great. I returned the shure and took a chance on the Phillips she9800, I have a pair of Phillip surroend earbuds and they sound pretty good for cheap buds so I was pretty confident these would sound good. A couple days later they arrived and gotta say these SOUND GREAT! most other earbuds i had to turn on the eq to compensate for the lack of bass/treble I now have the eq off and they are perfect. I have tried bose, vmoda and others and I have yet to hear buds that are this “full”. Bass is great nice highs and the soundstage is perfect. I highly recommend these.
Perfect headphone![]()
I had my reservations about buying these (relatively) pricey earbuds as Philips is better known for cheaper quality electronics. However, the Philips SHE9800 blew me away in every way.
I’m not an expert on acoustics but I could immediately tell the difference between these buds and my Creative EP630. The sound is just so much warmer and more natural than any other earbuds I’ve used before. There isn’t a hint of that artificial metallic sound that creeps through so many of the high-end earbuds out there. The sound is crisp over the entire range but particular stands out for the smooth bass. I’ve tested the buds over my collection of electronica, rock, hip-hop, and jazz music and the Philips just conquered everything.
I don’t care too much about noise canceling, but if this is a priority for you, you’d definitely want to get the Philips buds. I thought my Creative buds got as close as you could get to blocking out all sound, but the Philips takes it a step further. The buds isolate the music so well it feels like you’re hearing a private concert, and you can definitely notice the effects at a lower volume. A lot of the isolation has to do with the unique design of the earbuds themselves. The smaller protruding section fits snugly inside the ear canal while the bigger overlapping section sits comfortably inside the inner ear. The design is extremely comfortable and effective at creating the best audio experience.
All this comes packaged in a simple, elegant box. I opened it as carefully as possible so I could save the box for later use. The buds also come with a sturdy yet compact leather carrying case. Does the Phillips SHE9800 have any weakness?
In conclusion, you certainly pay more for these buds than you’d have to for other middle range buds like Creative or Sennheiser. But I assure you that you won’t feel like you wasted a single cent. You definitely get more than what you pay for with the Philips SHE9800 and its “advanced acoustics.”
