An Outsized Bargain![]()
I was reluctant to buy a large-screen TV sight unseen, even from a trusted online source such as Amazon. Judging by in-store displays I’ve seen, a lot of big screen TVs have atrocious picture quality or an outrageous price tag. I did quite a bit of research through the user reviews here and through some other online sources. I had a hard time finding any significant negative criticism so I took the plunge.
Final result. The TV looks great, works perfectly, and the picture quality is outstanding. This really is a bargain. I plugged it in and it worked perfectly, I don’t think I even adjusted the colors at all.
The only odd thing about the TV is that, at first, it kept displaying a little icon on the screen every few seconds. It turns out that the TV has an auto-brightness function that will scale the brightness up or down to match the light in the room and the icon was just letting me know that. Every time a cloud passed by outside the TV adjusted to the changed lighting. It took just a minute to figure out how to keep the icon from showing up onscreen. You can disable this feature as well but it seems useful.
So not only is it a great TV at a great price but it also keeps a constant vigil over you, to make sure that you always have a perfectly pleasant TV-watching experience.
Beautiful TV![]()
Absolutely beautiful TV. Great Picture especially with Cable HD (no converter box) or Blu-Ray! Sounds is ok at best (voice quality only) but not an issue if you have a surround receiver. Input labeling is limited, mounting is a little harder than desired. Not too many mounts available for a TV of this size and very pricy too. For the price, mount should be included.
Excellent Value![]()
Excellent picture. Connected HDMI with ATT U-Verse IPTV. Great for bright rooms — unlike my Samsung series 7 the screen does not reflect sunlight. More of a dry look vs glossy screen. Color is great once you tweak it in. Minor item – if you sit off axis the contrast ratio changes a little – picture gets brighter the more left or right you are. My Samsung has 120mhz screen refresh and this unit does not, but I cannot really tell the difference. If you want a 65″ screen there really is no other choice at this price and to spend thousands more for the higher end 65″ Aquos seems pointless. If you are looking for a 65″ HDTV, this is the one. Also my unit had no inital smell. :)
