Finally spanx with a split crotch...
This thing is great! I feel that if you are going to squeeze yourself into one of these things, it needs to have the split crotch so you can use the restroom without trying to get out then back into it (which it does have). The only thing I wish it had was loops to put your bra through so it doesn’t roll down in the back. Oh and a longer version so there is no mid-thigh dent (although this is much better than most mid-thigh girdles).
Buy the right size
Many people have complained about the fit. I had the same problems (bunching of fat at the top and rolling down) until I bought the next bigger size. I too had the illusion of being a small. However, the medium was really where I needed to be. Please don’t expect miracles but I sure do look a lot better in my clothes with these on.
Not for tall girls either! 
I bought SPANX hoping for a product that would smooth me out. They seemed promising at first, but then I realized, they aren’t long enough for taller girls. I’m 6′ tall, and have had the darndest time getting them all the way up and keeping them there. They do roll down, and frankly, that’s more embarassing than having a bulge I hate sticking out.
I bought two pairs, I’m going to return one pair for a larger size, but for the ones I wore, they’re going in the trash.
Also, I don’t know who can manage to use the toilet with these things on, but count me as one of the people who cannot!
